Social (Distancing) Studies

You have time. You have the world's knowledge at your fingertips.

What you don't have is the motivation and accountability to stick with that thing you've been wanting to learn but keep putting off.

Social (Distancing) Studies will match you with a group of people who will help you learn, improve and grow.

We'll match you with a group who wants to learn the same thing and help you create a mini-curriculum.

Each day, you'll study on your own time and lean on your group for questions.

Each week, the group will meet on Zoom to discuss the topic in depth.

At the end of the six weeks, you'll do a group project that you'll share at a Talent Show for all participants, friends, and family

Accountability Group

We'll match you with a group of people who are responsible for holding each other accountable.

For six weeks, you'll spend an hour a day working towards your goal.

Each week, the group will meet on Zoom to discuss progress, share tips, and get to know each other.

At the end of the six weeks, you'll do a group project that you'll share at a Talent Show for all participants, friends, and family

"I'm in a Talent Show!?"

We know as adults, there are less pats on the back for accomplishments. So WE are throwing you a talent show. Yes you!

At the end of our 6 weeks together, we will throw a talent show to celebrate your commitment to this form and creation of your work.

You can invite your family & friends, and show how your love of sketching/writing/Algorithms led you to master this craft in only six weeks.

Our celebration is virtual - so your Uncle in Northern Alaska is invited! There is a limit of 5 invites per participant.

You commit to your craft. Let us applaud the hard work you've put in.

F.A.Q.

Q: I applied! How do you decide who will take part in Social (Distancing) Studies?

A: We will accept people based on whether what they want to learn, build, and create matches others so that we can match groups with similar interests.

Q: Why $100?

A: The money is helpful for accountability in both directions - paying $100 means that people are more likely to stick with it, and receiving $100 lights a fire under us to make sure that everyone involved leaves with new knowledge, new skills, and new friends.
